Several of the Martha’s Vineyard Hotels and Martha’s Vineyard Bed & Breakfasts that are members of the island’s lodging association are located within a short stroll of Inkwell Beach.
Inkwell Beach is located in picturesque Oak Bluffs and is a section of the Oak Bluffs Town beach and has been a sanctuary for the Black community for over 100 years. Although only a small beach it is the center of activities and gatherings throughout the summer. The name itself has become an iconic emblem seen around stores across the island.
The closest MVLA hotel to Inkwell is the Pequot Hotel, which is only 300 yds from the beach. Next closest is the Oak Bluffs Inn only an 8 minute stroll and then both the Morgan Hotel and Madison Inn are ½ mile from the beach, so a leisurely 10 minute walk. The Dockside Inn and Summercamp Hotel are also great options and only 12 minutes on foot from the beach.
These hotels and inns are all association members so are professionally run and inspected hotels. They are different in size and style from each other so there are options for whatever kind of lodging you prefer for your Martha’s Vineyard vacation.
